CANNABIS BUTTER IN A BAIN MARIE
The bain-marie is an ancient technique, dear to all mothers and all scientists on the planet.
Not all raw materials can be exposed directly to heat, and - for this purpose - the bain-marie uses hot water to "cook" ingredients placed in another container.
- Fill the pan about a quarter full with water and bring it to the boil. When the water starts to boil, immerse a bowl with the butter, once melted add the cannabis.
- Heat the butter over medium heat for about 45 minutes or an hour maximum, mixing the ingredients well. Now all the useful principles of the plant will have joined the butter.

Below is a much faster version of the classic recipe for preparing cannabutter, which will be ready in just 60 minutes.
Start by melting the butter over low heat in a medium-sized saucepan.
Add the chopped cannabis to the melted butter and mix gently from time to time. Cook over a low heat for 45 minutes , stirring frequently.
At this point it is very important not to let the mixture boil.
To check that the temperature is correct, keep an eye on the surface of your mixture. Do you see that some bubbles are forming on the surface?
If the answer is yes, then you have reached an adequate temperature range . These are small bubbles of a few millimeters in diameter, very different from the bubbles generated in a boiling process at high temperatures.
Once it reaches the doneness point, strain the butter into the container of your choice, using a metal strainer to remove any traces of chopped peaks. Use a spoon to press the remaining buds into the strainer to release all the cannabinoids .
